Last night I went to track. My goal was to see friends before I left for vacation and get a recovery workout in. Coach saw me, pulled me from the lineup, and it became an even shorter, easier workout:) It was great to be there nonetheless, to see the gang work out, to see the track, to catch up with other friends from different clubs, it was just...what's the word?...refreshing. Afterwards a bunch of us grabbed dinner, it was Kelvin's birthday. Amelia insisted on buying me dinner for finishing WS, super nice of her and Janet and J.P. gave me a ride home. Feeling much better now, I'm done being disappointed with my race.
Time to write the race report, look through the pictures (again), enjoy the memories and to prepare for the next thing - my vacation and training for the Big Kahuna Half-Ironman.

So glad to hear you're over the disappointment. Those of us on the sidelines think that anyone who was able to finish the '06 States is a rock star.
ReplyDeleteThat includes you, buddy. ;-)
Good luck with the Kahuna training. Trail runners do well on the 1/2 marathon there since it's 40% weaving bike paths and 40% trails.

Thanks Scott. Missed my bike. I'd like to feel fast again:)
