These videos were shot by JB Benna AKA "Journeyfilm". In two parts and of great quality. The first video shows the start and the leaders coming through the first aid station. The second video captures the weather, mud and lushness of Mt. Tam's trails. The last 30 seconds made me wish it was last Saturday all over again. The guy in the green jacket and white visor who you see for most of the video is Hal Koerner from Ashland, Oregon - current WS champ.
I'm actually in it and I was able to do a little video analysis of myself: bring down arms, lose more weight and purchase larger race ready shorts.

lmaooooo ummm I am glad you said so I didn't have to :-) course looked knarly Wet!
Awesome Video clips...thanks!!
I may just have to do Speedos, less material no chaffing. Large shorts chafe, small shorts chafe despite less material. I may have to resort to wearing them whatchamacallit's, those tights but they are short? Anyway that's the plan.
ReplyDeleteDude, your legs are like, freaking HUGE! I could only wish that my legs looked like that so I could buy bigger shorts! haha A Speedo would be baggy on my "no ass" body! ha Great job, Rick! Peace!
ReplyDeleteMark
I thought I saw you chugging by! Try CW-X I have only worn them as far as a 50k but they're great
ReplyDeleteDid you factor in that the camera adds 10 lbs?
ReplyDeleteSkirt is your answer!!! No chafing, free fell, and hides all the bulk! Good videos too:)
ReplyDeletegreat, great videos rick - thanks for sharing. takes me right back to that cold, wet day i'll have to remind myself of when complaining about a San Francisco "heat wave". bonus! i made the clip at about 2:47 at the TV aid station cheering in the lead runners. i agree with olga, running skirts for men - who's going to run with that idea and say they were the pioneer? seriously, they're fantastic.
ReplyDeleteFun video. I am signing up for it next year for sure.
ReplyDeleteI like Olgas idea. Someone should start making man skirts.
Did someone say Hal Koerner? Woot woot!
ReplyDeleteRick...as I watched that video it gave me a glimpse of what will I expect on my next 100k ultra (although the place is different.
ReplyDeleteCongrats again for finishing strong in this race. I really admire you!
Thanks too for those priceless insights you've shared on my blog.
God bless.
