San Diego 100 will try to update this page throughout the day. Cell coverage is spotty but I'm thankful that they are trying anyway. Mighty nice of them.

No worries Mark, still under 24!
DeleteThat was so close, bet the story of last miles is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove to tell you. The last 4 miles was the hardest effort I've run in any race. At the last aid station I mistakenly thought I only had a little under 3 miles to go before the finish. Aid station people told me I had 3.9 and my watch said I had 49 minutes left. Aid station people pushed me out of there and let me leave my lights with them. Ran with reckless abandon, hitting 9.5 miles while still on the trail. On the meadow, right before the camp I hit a rock checking the time on my watch at a 9 minute mile pace, went right shoulder first in the ground, got up and started running again. So shaky at first, started laughing and got going again, think I hit an 8 minute mile on the road, was scared my breathing was so ragged. A bit surprised there was still 9 minutes on the clock. Had I know I would have slowed down :) The finish made my run.
DeleteThis sounds awesome!!! Way to make it happen!
